As a professional service company, Camwatch takes standards compliance very seriously. Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2000 (audited by the British Standards Institution).
Further, Camwatch complies with all relevant security industry standards including BS5979 Cat II, BS8418, BS DD243, BS EN 50132-7, PD6662/BS and EN50131. The Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB), a UKAS accredited organisation, regularly audits Camwatch against these industry standards.

A couple of the most important standards are BS5979 and BS8418:
Only monitored sites allocated with a unique reference number (URN) will receive LEVEL 1 – IMMEDIATE/URGENT response.

BS5979 (Code of practice for remote centres receiving signals from security systems)
BS5979 is the British Standard covering the construction, staffing, operations and security of alarm monitoring centres. Monitored installations must pass alarms to central stations that comply with BS5979 Cat II to be allocated a Unique Reference Number by the Police. Camwatch is fully accredited to BS5979 Cat II.
BS8418 (Installation and remote monitoring of detector activated CCTV)
First issued as a Code of Practice in 2003, BS8418 is now a fully ratified British Standard. It defines not just the specification of the equipment, but best practice regarding the design, installation, commissioning, operation and remote monitoring of detector activated CCTV systems. Remotely monitored installations must comply with BS8418 to be allocated a Unique Reference Number by the Police. Camwatch is fully accredited to BS8418.
Camwatch continues to work with ACPO, BSIA and others on
